Transforming Tradition: Foodservice Renovation at St. Dominic/Jackson Memorial Hospital

Working in concert with representatives of St. Dominic/Jackson Memorial Hospital (Owner), Barlow Eddy Jenkins, PA (Architect), Orlando Espinosa + Associates, LLC provided foodservice consulting services for the renovation of the existing 1960’s era kitchen with a traditional tray service.

With the continued growth of the hospital and the addition of multiple services the hospital has outgrown the kitchen. The planning of the renovation was complex, in addition all food services needed to be maintained without interruption which included the 360 Patient (+- 400 Beds) while maintaining a portion of service as required to provide tray service for restricted diet patients and service of the existing 1400 meal/day Cafeteria. Once completed the renovated main kitchen was equipped with a room service tray line, all new cooking, food preparation and ware-washing equipment and food storage areas all sized and designed for current and future growth.

Year Completed: Started 2015, completed 2017
